Service Description

Behavioural challenges in schools continue to rise, placing increasing pressure on teachers, leaders, and support staff. From disruptive behaviour and emotional dysregulation to conflict between students, unresolved behaviour issues can impact learning, staff wellbeing, and overall school culture. Without a consistent, proactive behaviour strategy, schools risk high levels of disruption, reduced engagement, and burnout among staff. At JLW Consultancy, our Behavioural Support & Management Service helps schools implement clear, effective, and compassionate behaviour systems that promote positive conduct and emotional wellbeing. We work with leadership teams and staff to build a whole-school approach that reduces reactive responses and strengthens proactive behavioural support. Our consultancy focuses on addressing the root causes of behaviour rather than simply managing the symptoms. We help schools understand how unmet needs, trauma, anxiety, or neurodiversity can influence behaviour, and how restorative, preventative approaches support long-term change. Through structured systems, tailored strategies, and staff training, schools can create calmer, more consistent learning environments where all students feel safe, understood, and supported. Our service includes: • Behaviour policy development and implementation, ensuring school-wide consistency aligned with restorative and inclusive principles. • Staff training in behaviour management, providing practical CPD on de-escalation, proactive strategies, and conflict resolution. • Early intervention frameworks, including positive reinforcement, behaviour tracking systems, and preventative routines. • Trauma-informed and emotionally responsive teaching, supporting staff in understanding behaviour linked to mental health, trauma, and SEND/ALN needs. • Restorative practice training, including peer mediation and structured dialogue to repair harm and rebuild relationships. • Parent and caregiver engagement, ensuring behaviour expectations and strategies are reinforced at both school and home. • Student wellbeing and mental health support, integrating SEL, mentoring, and targeted interventions. • Data-driven behaviour analysis, helping schools track patterns, identify trends, and create personalised intervention plans. By adopting a whole-school, preventative approach, schools can reduce behavioural incidents, strengthen relationships, and build a positive, inclusive culture that supports success.
