Parenting can often feel isolating, especially when navigating challenges such as ALN (Additional Learning Needs), behavioural difficulties, or school-related concerns. Many parents want a supportive community but struggle to find safe, trusted spaces — locally or online — where they can share experiences, seek advice and find encouragement. Traditional discipline approaches often don’t work — and in some cases can make matters worse, increasing power struggles and frustration. Without clear, consistent strategies, behavioural challenges can impact school performance, friendships, and emotional wellbeing. Parents frequently find that: • Tantrums, defiance, or aggression feel impossible to manage. • Inconsistent approaches between caregivers create confusion and misbehaviour. • Children with ALN/SEND need tailored strategies that are not covered in generic parenting advice. With the right guidance, parents can develop effective techniques to better understand their child’s behaviour, reduce daily stress, and create a structured, supportive home environment. At JLW Consultancy, our Behavioural Support & Management Strategies Service equips parents with practical, evidence-based tools that work in real-life situations. We help parents to: • Understand the root causes of challenging behaviour by identifying triggers, unmet needs, and underlying issues. • Implement consistent routines and positive reinforcement, creating stability and encouraging cooperation. • Develop de-escalation strategies to handle meltdowns, defiance, or aggression calmly and effectively. • Foster emotional regulation skills such as problem-solving, coping techniques, and self-control. • Set clear boundaries and expectations, using firm but fair approaches that build respect. • Work collaboratively with schools to align strategies across home and classroom settings. We also answer the key questions parents often raise, including: • What causes behavioural challenges in children? • How do I manage tantrums, defiance, or aggressive behaviour? • What strategies promote emotional regulation and resilience? • How can positive reinforcement be used effectively? • What specific approaches work for children with ALN/SEND? Cancellation Policy JLW Consultancy – Booking Policy This policy explains how bookings, payments, cancellations, and rescheduling work for services provided by JLW Consultancy. By booking with us, you agree to the terms outlined below. 1. Making a Booking • All bookings must be made through our online booking system or by contacting JLW Consultancy directly. • Bookings are confirmed only once payment (or deposit, where applicable) has been received. • You will receive a confirmation email with details of your booking. 2. Payment • Full payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed in writing. • Payments are processed securely through our website. • Schools and organisations may request invoicing arrangements, subject to approval. 3. Cancellations by Clients • Cancellations made 7 or more days before the session will receive a full refund. • Cancellations made 3–6 days before the session will receive a 50% refund. • Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the session are non-refundable. 4. Rescheduling • You may reschedule your booking up to 48 hours before the session without charge. • Requests made less than 48 hours before will be treated as a cancellation. 5. No-Shows & Late Attendance • If you do not attend your session without notice, no refund will be given. • If you arrive late, the session will still end at the scheduled time. 6. Cancellations by JLW Consultancy • In the rare event that JLW Consultancy needs to cancel or reschedule, you will be offered either: • A full refund, or • An alternative date/time for your session. 7. Safeguarding & Conduct • When working with families and children, safeguarding is our highest priority. Parents/carers must be present for all sessions with children. • We reserve the right to refuse or end a session if conduct is inappropriate. 8. Liability • JLW Consultancy is not liable for any indirect loss, costs, or expenses arising from cancellations, rescheduling, or technical issues beyond our control.
