Service Description

Intelligence is complex and expressed in many different ways. While traditional academic tests often measure literacy and numeracy, they can overlook other vital skills. Non-verbal IQ assessments focus instead on problem-solving, logical reasoning, and pattern recognition, offering a more rounded view of a child’s abilities. These assessments are particularly valuable for: • Identifying giftedness or advanced abilities. • Highlighting learning differences that may not appear in standard testing. • Understanding cognitive strengths and challenges to better guide support. At JLW Consultancy, our Non-Verbal IQ Assessment Service provides parents with a clear, independent evaluation of their child’s abilities. Our assessments focus on: • Pattern recognition and logical thinking — measuring how children identify relationships and solve problems. • Spatial awareness and abstract reasoning — evaluating how children process visual and conceptual information. • Learning potential — understanding how quickly a child grasps and applies new concepts. • Strengths and needs — identifying whether a child may require additional support or extension opportunities. Following the assessment, parents receive a comprehensive report detailing their child’s cognitive profile. This includes practical strategies and recommendations to help you support both strengths and areas requiring development, at home and in school. Frequently Asked Questions • What is a Non-Verbal Assessment? A test of cognitive ability that does not rely on language, making it accessible to a wide range of learners. • How does it differ from traditional IQ tests? Unlike tests that focus on verbal reasoning and literacy, non-verbal assessments emphasise problem-solving, logic, and spatial reasoning. • Who is it suitable for? These assessments are especially helpful for children with language or communication difficulties, as they provide a fair measure of intelligence without relying on words. • What can I expect? Your child will complete a series of puzzles, patterns, and logic-based tasks in a supportive environment. • How often should it be done? Every few years, or when parents/educators need updated insights into learning needs. • What happens if concerns are identified? We provide tailored recommendations, next steps, and, if necessary, referrals for further assessments or interventions.
