Service Description

High-quality teaching is the strongest driver of student success—but retaining great teachers has become a growing challenge for schools across the UK and internationally. Rising workloads, pressures around accountability, limited career pathways, and increasing wellbeing concerns mean that more teachers are leaving the profession than ever before. Schools must take a proactive, strategic approach to teacher retention to maintain stable staffing, strong relationships, and consistent teaching quality. At JLW Consultancy, our Teacher Retention & Wellbeing Support Service helps schools create a supportive, sustainable environment where staff feel valued, motivated, and equipped to thrive. We focus on practical solutions that reduce burnout, strengthen school culture, and enhance overall job satisfaction. We work closely with school leaders to identify the factors contributing to turnover and tailor retention strategies that fit the unique needs of your setting. Our approach blends research-based wellbeing practices, operational improvements, and leadership strategies to create a workforce culture that teachers want to remain part of. Our support includes: • Workload Management & Efficiency Audits to streamline planning, reduce administrative burden, and create time-saving systems that enable teachers to focus on teaching. • Professional Development & Career Progression Pathways that build confidence, leadership capability, and long-term career satisfaction. • Staff Wellbeing & Mental Health Programmes designed to support emotional resilience, minimise stress, and create a positive working environment. • Recognition & Incentive Frameworks to celebrate staff achievements and boost morale through meaningful acknowledgment and rewards. • School Culture & Collaboration Development that promotes teamwork, shared decision-making, and a sense of belonging among staff. • Flexible Working Solutions & Support Structures to prevent burnout and meet the needs of a modern school workforce. • Exit Interview Analysis & Retention Data Insights to identify trends, address concerns, and develop targeted solutions based on real staff experiences. By investing in staff wellbeing and retention, schools benefit from improved morale, fewer absences, stronger student outcomes, and a more cohesive and stable teaching team. A well-supported workforce leads to better classroom experiences, enhanced professional fulfilment, and higher standards across the whole school.
